The Lost Manuscripts of Ancient Ethiopia
The movie Agora (2009) recounts events in fourth century Roman Egypt during the last days of the Roman empire where Christianity’s triumph saw the dismantlement of the old order.
Forty six minutes into the movie the great library of Alexandria is about to be ransacked. Desperate librarians are seen trying to save scrolls in a room entitled HIETOPIA .
— Was that meant to say Ethiopia?
The written noun word Ethiopia dates some 3,000 plus years.
Although the story is fictional account based on true historical events, there is no doubt that there were once thousands of written documents that shed light on ancient Ethiopia.
We today have just a small number of ancient texts that make mention of Ethiopia. One must wonder about the many lost texts that told the wonders of ancient Ethiopia. Now lost forever .
